THIS WEEK IN DISNEY HISTORY
March 4, 1914 – Disney animator/director Ward Kimball is born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kimball, one of Walt’s “Nine Old Men,” worked on such classics as “Fantasia,” “Pinocchio,” and “Dumbo.”

March 6, 1980 – CBS-TV airs an hour-long program titled, “Disneyland’s 25th Anniversary.” The special features an all-star lineup including Danny Kaye, Annette Funicello, and Buddy Ebsen.

March 7, 2005 – Disney’s 1959 black-and-white “The Shaggy Dog,” starring Fred MacMurray, and the 1976 follow-up “The Shaggy D.A.,” starring Dean Jones, are both released to DVD.
